Gale Construction ensures success for Hammonton, NJ project.

The Gale Construction Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE: CLI), has commenced construction management services for a new regional operations center in Hammonton, N.J., being developed for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company (NJM).

The project is being built on a 56-acre site that NJM purchased to accommodate its southern regional operations center. The project's initial phase will be the construction of a 146,000-square-foot, three-story office building featuring administrative offices, a call center, multi-purpose spaces, a large cafeteria, a central utility plant and a retail bank with drive-up ATM. Conservation principles incorporated into the design include energy-efficient cooling, heating and lighting systems. The building's projected completion is fourth quarter 2010.

The building will also include a three-story atrium, which would eventually be the interface with a 100,000-square-foot building that may be constructed during a future phase, if NJM's business needs should warrant expanded facilities at that time.

Gale Construction's responsibilities will include the management of all construction-related activities ranging from procurement to oversight of all field work through occupancy and closeout. The company has been providing pre-construction phase construction management services for the project since June 2007.
