Gak Nederland B.V. awarded European solution of the year 1996 by the International Information Management Congress (IMC); Successful implementation of Wang's Work Management Software recognized.

BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 1996--Wang (NASDAQ:WANG), a leading provider of imaging and workflow software, announced today at the International Information Management Congress (IMC) Forum de la GEIDE `96 that Gak Nederland b.v., the largest Dutch Social Security provider, won the IMC European Solution of the Year Award for its innovative use of Wang's OPEN/workflow and OPEN/image software integrated with PC DOCS DOCS OPEN and BAAN (Triton) industrial logistics software. The implementation in its Employers Insurance Administration Department spearheaded the organization's drive for efficiency by controlling costs and providing more timely service to the public. ASZ, the IT company of the Gak Group, integrated these components with existing legacy systems to implement the full scale solution.

The work management software enables the Employers Insurance Administration Department staff of 200 to process insurance paperwork for more than 280,000 Dutch employers, representing seven million beneficiaries.

The Department currently manages over 280,000 files per year, consisting of 8 million documents and the number of files is growing at a rate of 25,000 per year. By implementing redefined logistics in the administrative process with Wang's OPEN/workflow, OPEN/image and PC DOCS DOCS OPEN software, ASZ made all information immediately available to the customer service staff, enabling them to provide a more responsive service.
