ALEX ARTHUR Alex Arthur (born June 26, 1978 in Edinburgh) is a professional boxer from Edinburgh, Scotland. Arthur is nicknamed "Amazing" Alex Arthur. He is currently the British, Commonwealth, European (EBU) Super Featherweight champion and interim WBO world champion.  last night turned up the heat on Koba Gogoladze ahead of his first world title shot by accusing his rival of not having the stomach for a fight.

The Edinburgh star will go toe to toe with his American-based rival on Saturday at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium UEFA 5-star rated football stadia

 super-featherweight title.

And the temperature in the ring will be hot even if there's not a lot coming back from Gogoladze.

Arthur famously climbed off the canvas three times during a brutal encounter with Michael Gomez in November 2003 before the fight was eventually halted by referee John Coyle in the fifth. This remains the only defeat of the Scot's pro career.

Gogoladze has also suffered one loss by stoppage - at the hands of Almazbek "Kid Diamond" Raiymkulov - but Arthur reckons he showed little desire to fight on after being put on the canvas.

The Edinburgh star said: "I don't think the man likes to fight. I could not do that. If I'mgoing out, I go out on my back - like I did against Gomez."

Arthur and his training team have already nicknamed Gogoladze Road Runner because of his fondness of boxing on the back foot.

The Georgian-born boxer has also had points deducted in the past for holding.

Arthur said: "I'm fortunate in that I've fought guys with a similar style as an amateur so I don't think he'll hold any surprises for me."

Next Arthur wants current WBO holder Joan Guzman, the man compatriot com·pa·tri·ot

Arthur said: "I would love to fight Guzman but I don't know if that's going to happen because these guys are in an exclusive little club in the States and they want to fight each other rather than me."

If the 28-year-old does win at the weekend, he says he hasn't given hope of defending his title at Edinburgh Castle.

He said: "When I was young I used to think to myself that one day I would be fighting there. It's a great venue and to headline a bill would be a dream come true."
