GUNMAN SOUGHT IN ROBBERY SPREE.

Police are searching for a gunman with an affinity for black clothing and hoop earrings who pulled a string of robberies last month, including one in North Hollywood where he dragged a man from a car and shot him.

``God, I want to catch this guy,'' said LAPD 1. LAPD - Link Access Procedure on the D channel.

The first report of the gunman was on the night of Aug. 20, in the 1700 block of Fuller Avenue in Hollywood, when he approached a man getting out of his rental car.

Fearing for his life, the victim then quickly tossed his wallet to the gunman, who fled on foot.

Then 10 minutes later the gunman struck again, only this time it ended with a shooting, nearly fatal.

As a 28-year-old Burbank man left a party in the 3200 block of Oakshire Drive in North Hollywood with two of his friends, the gunman approached their car.

The robber grabbed the door, stuck the gun inside, pointed it at the men and demanded their wallets. The two men in the front seats ducked down and scrambled scram·ble

``The evidence at the crime scene shows it was a hell of a fight,'' Angeles said. ``The suspect shot him in the face, right in the jaw, through the collar bone.''

Originally given a 10 percent chance to live, the victim pulled through after being on life support systems for several days.
