GTSI wins prestigious army ITES contract.

GTSI Corp. (Nasdaq:GTSI), a leading government technology solutions provider, was selected by the U.S. Army to provide hardware, software and related services to the Army through its highly competed Information Technology Enterprise Solutions (ITES) contract. GTSI is one of four companies, each awarded similar contracts, which have a combined maximum value of $500 million over seven years.

ITES, awarded by the U.S. Army Information Technology E-Commerce Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4) and the Army Small Computer Program (ASCP), is a robust successor to prior Army IT purchase agreements. Other government agencies can also use it to make purchases for their information technology needs.

The contract is a key part of the high-profile Army Knowledge Management transformation plan aimed at moving the Army to a net-centric knowledge-based force.

Through the ITES contract GTSI will provide a broad range of solutions, to include desktops, laptops, workstations, commercial servers, networking equipment, operating systems, storage, peripherals and commercial software applications. Additionally GTSI may provide related services such as: installation, equipment maintenance, site survey, system configuration and integration, image loading, data migration, asset tracking, and possibly legacy equipment maintenance.

This seven-year contract is comprised of a 36-month base period and two, 24-month option periods. The contract award is for ITES Functional Area-1 for Enterprise Hardware Solutions, the first of two phases. ITES Functional Area-2 for Enterprise Mission Support Services Solutions will be awarded by the Army later.
