GTSI RECEIVES FIRST IBM "ASSOCIATED FEDERAL INTEGRATOR" APPROVAL

CHANTILLY, Va., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Government Technology Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTSI) announced today that the IBM Personal Computer Corporation has approved GTSI and Piedmont Systems, Inc. (PSI), a vertical integrator that offers multimedia solutions, as its first IBM Associated Federal Integrators.
"GTSI has been a pioneer in the Federal market, so we were excited when IBM approached us with this new aggregator program," said Harry B. Heisler, GTSI's Vice President-Marketing. "We see this as a win-win- win. IBM, because it further expands their channel into the Federal Government. GTSI, because it brings some order to a market which requires procurement expertise. And the integrator community, which can establish a solid reseller relationship and then focus on their integration activities."
Lesley Harris, National Account Executive/Federal, with the IBM Personal Computer Company, noted that, "We are delighted that GTSI is aggressively pursuing our new Federal Aggregator program. They continue to support the Government customer in many channels, with many procurement vehicles."
George A.E. Sledd, President of PSI, said, "When IBM's Federal aggregator/integrator program came to my attention, I immediately thought of GTSI. We have done business with them in the past, and we were convinced that their Government focus would be best for PSI."
Heisler added: "We are particularly pleased that PSI is our first partner on this program. Not only is it a great company to do business with, but their expertise is in the exciting and ever-expanding area of multimedia.
"Many of the multimedia solutions that PSI provides have the capacity to make a profound positive impact on government and government-related activities. For example, PSI's partnership with ADAM Software, Inc. (a company that provides an interactive multimedia anatomical reference guide) is especially rewarding because of the unique benefits it provides to health sciences education."
GTSI is the leading reseller of microcomputer hardware, software and networking products to the Federal Government market, as well as a reseller of UNIX workstations and allied software and peripherals.
