GTSI NAMES SLOVENEC EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
 CHANTILLY, Va., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Government Technology Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTSI) announced today that Frank H. Slovenec has been elected executive vice president and chief operating officer of the corporation. Slovenec brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in computer sales and distribution. His responsibilities will include overseeing the company's operating divisions, Personal Systems and Advanced Systems, as well as the product marketing, bid & proposal, purchasing, and distribution operations. Slovenec will report directly to R. M. Rickenbach, chairman and chief executive officer.
 From 1989 to the present, Slovenec, 43, was with Intelligent Electronics (NASDAQ: INEL), the leading reseller of microcomputer systems and related products and services. Most recently, he was president of the Company Center Division, which under his direction was restructured and experienced dramatic growth in ten major markets in the U.S.
 Prior to that, from 1988 to 1989, Slovenec was vice president and general manager for Ingram Micro, a diversified computer products distributor, where he was responsible for the company's consumer/retail, technical products and Ingram Laboratory businesses. In 1988, r?e the merger of Ingram and Micro D, he served as senior vice president of Sales for Ingram, a computer products distributor. While there, he participated in restructuring the company's distribution strategy, helping to significantly improve the company's financial performance.
 Between 1983 to 1988, Slovenec served as senior vice president of sales for Microrim, Inc., a software publishing company. While in its start-up phase, he created a distribution strategy and agreements with distributors and resellers for the company's database software, establishing the company as the second largest shipper of database programs in the world.
 Slovenec began his career in 1972 at Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys Corporation), where over a nine-year period he held various sales positions, including that of director of Small Systems, where he was responsible for launching the company's line of microcomputers.

 A native of Cleveland, Slovenec holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cleveland University. He is married and has two children.
 GTSI is the leading reseller of microcomputer hardware, software and networking products to the Federal Government market, as well as a reseller of UNIX workstations and allied software and peripherals.
