 GTECH PLANS INVESTMENT IN SUFFOLK DOWNS
 WEST GREENWICH, R.I., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- GTECH Corporation


today announced its intention to invest $2 million with Sterling Suffolk Racecourse Limited Partnership to re-establish quality thoroughbred racing in Massachusetts.
 In making the announcement, Guy B. Snowden, GTECH's chairman, said, "The high level of community support for the re-establishment of racing at Suffolk Downs is very impressive. We are hopeful the direct positive economic impact, including additional jobs and state revenues, will contribute to a revitalization of the state and regional economy."
 Snowden continued by saying, "The goal of the Sterling Partnership in re-opening Suffolk Downs is to offer the highest quality thoroughbred racing and entertainment experience to its customers. The Sterling Partnership has put forth a comprehensive proposal that we believe will ensure the success of Suffolk Downs as an entertainment complex, and we are pleased to join in this enterprise."
 In return for its investment, GTECH will receive a limited partnership interest and an opportunity to broaden its participation in the racing industry. A leading supplier of on-line gaming products and services, GTECH will also serve as a technical resource to Suffolk's management.
