GTE expands use of MEMCO Software's SeOS security products.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 1997--MEMCO Software (Nasdaq:MEMCF) and GTE today announced a deal expanding the use of MEMCO's SeOS Suite of security software products within GTE.

In a fourth quarter 1996 deal worth more than $1 million, GTE purchased additional copies of the SeOS product suite, bringing the worth of their business relationship with MEMCO Software to over $3 million. These new licenses will be used in conjunction with the MEMCO products GTE has already implemented, and they will continue to use SeOS Access Control to manage and secure their distributed computing systems.

The shift in computing paradigm from centralized computers to multiple distributed systems created a need for effective administration, control and management solutions. Organizations find that the operational overhead associated with managing security, and in particular user accounts, increases exponentially with the expansion of open systems intranets. The result is often reduced control and a heightened number of security incidents.
