GTE CALIFORNIA INCORPORATED SAYS IT WILL REDEEM ITS 8-7/8 PERCENT SINKING FUND DEBENTURES DUE 1996

 THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- GTE California Incorporated today said it has advised the trustee of its 8-7/8 percent sinking fund debentures due 1996 (Cusip 371046-AW-3), which are listed on the New York Stock Exchange, that it has elected to redeem the issue at 100.80 percent of the principal amount on May 15, 1993. Holders will be notified by mail today.
