Susan Kodish noted, "This annual event, held this year on April 28-29, attracted about 100,000 people who came to browse among the many booths, attend author talks and panels, and enjoy the sunshine and camaraderie on the UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX campus. We were pleased at how many people stopped at our booth, to chat, pick up promotional and informational materials, and buy books. A fair number of them were already familiar with general semantics, having at some point read Science and Sanity and/or taken a course. Hayakawa and Sandy Berman were mentioned as teachers. One woman had taken part in the Los Angeles Society for General Semantics 30 years ago! "We very much enjoyed finding out in a new forum that general semantics continues to be known and to have an influence." A new edition of Drive Yourself Sane: Using the Uncommon Sense of General Semantics, by Dr. Susan Presby Kodish and Dr. Bruce I.
