GROUPS TO REAP ANNUAL LARGESSE.

Byline: Michael Coit Daily News Staff Writer

When leaders of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise hand out checks totaling $62,250 on Thursday, approximately 30 local charities will benefit.

Care and Share, the Simi Valley food bank, counts on the annual grant for purchasing food to supplement donated canned and perishable goods PERISHABLE GOODS, Goods which are lessened in value and become worse by being kept. Vide Bona Peritura. .

``They've been helping us ever since they started,'' said Willa Dobbs, Care and Share's director. ``They really spread it around. I think that's wonderful. What they're doing is helping everybody.''

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center uses the grant to supplement its ``Galaxy of Friends'' program, said Fred Helsel, the center's assistant general manager.

``That helps us to subsidize tickets for organizations and youth groups. It also helps us to bring in specialized programs, to expand our programming and not have to worry about ticket sales covering the entire cost of the artist,'' Helsel explained.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise has raised and donated more than $350,000 since the service club was established 11 years ago. The major fund-raising events are the club's Cajun/Creole Music Festival, the Pars for Paws Golf Tournament, and a two-day Country/Western Music Festival as part of the Simi Valley Days festivities fes·tiv·i·ty
