Committee on Aging held its 27th annual meeting Jan. 17, honoring an outstanding senior and a local company for their support of the local senior community. The Senior of the Year award is presented annually to a local senior whose independence, dignity and quality of life serves as an inspiration to his or her peers. Other businesses that were recognized were Frontier Toyota for donating two trucks to the Home Delivered Meals program in the past year; ATC/VANCOM for providing bus transportation for seniors as part of the Dial-a-Ride program; College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state.
