GROUNDWATER TECHNOLOGY RECEIVES $39 MILLION TEN-YEAR CONTRACT FOR TOTAL ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION

 NORWOOD, Mass., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Groundwater Technology Government Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Groundwater Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: GWTI), has been selected for a subcontract award valued at up to $39 million over ten years. The subcontract is in conjunction with a $260 million Total Environmental Restoration Contract (TERC) won by Ebasco from the New England Division of the Army Corps of Engineers on Dec. 10. The environmental division and remediation group of Ebasco is now doing business as Enserch Environmental Corp.
 This is the fifth TERC contract awarded by the Army Corps of Engineers recently, and is the second in which Groundwater Technology is involved. In September, Groundwater Technology was selected as a subcontractor to Ebasco on the TERC award issued by the Omaha District of the Army Corps of Engineers.
 The most recent award consist of a four-year base contract and two three-year options. It covers environmental restoration work at government installations within the New England Division of the Corps, which includes all six New England states. The New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site in Massachusetts has been designated as the anchor site, and is a location where much of the initial work is anticipated.
 Services to be provided by Groundwater Technology may include site definition studies, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, decision documents, designs, interim actions, remedial actions, short-term operation and maintenance, and other activities relating to remediation of hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste sites.
