GRISOFT Names Richard Carlson Managing Director to Lead North American Operations.

Former Aluria CEO and EarthLink Executive to Expand Sales Efforts in North America

MILLBURN, N.J. -- GRISOFT, the developer of AVG security software, announced today the appointment of Richard Carlson as Managing Director of GRISOFT's North American operations. As Managing Director, he will determine the strategic direction of the AVG product line in the U.S. and Canada as well as work to expand GRISOFT's consumer, SMB and OEM sales efforts in North America.

Prior to joining GRISOFT, Carlson was CEO of Aluria Software, a leading anti-spyware company. Under Carlson's leadership, the company increased sales and new vendor contracts through strategic relationships with companies like AOL, EarthLink, and SoftBank. In 2005, he led the company to one of the largest security acquisitions by an ISP with the sale of Aluria to EarthLink. At EarthLink, Carlson served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He secured numerous deals and successfully led the effort to productize EarthLink's anti-spyware program to new and existing OEMs and ISVs.
