 security software, today announced several new versions of its antivirus offerings for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD open source platforms. AVG Email Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD includes improvements like integrated anti-spam and faster e-mail scanning. Integration of antivirus and anti-spam reduces the strain on the email server and improves user efficiency by eliminating the number of unsolicited e-mails.

AVG File Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD offers antivirus protection of data stored on file servers in a heterogeneous environment. Scanning files from the server frees resources on the workstations and makes common computing tasks more efficient. AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD offers professional antivirus protection for workstations running alternative operating systems.

AVG security products for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD even provide high performance on older PCs and servers because of their minimal hardware requirements such as Intel Pentium 200 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  and 256 MB of system memory. Installation packages of new AVG products are available for FreeBSD and most Linux distributions including RedHat, Suse, Debian and Mandriva.

AVG products for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD are available immediately worldwide via authorized partners and distributors and via GRISOFT's web site at www.grisoft.com, which offers trial versions as well.

AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD is priced at $28.95 per user. A license of AVG Email Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD costs $530 and includes 50 email accounts. AVG File Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD is priced at $307 and includes 50 concurrent connections to the server. All pricing comes with a two-year license and free technical support.
