GREUEL'S POSSE RIDES HERD ON EQUESTRIAN RIGHTS.

More than 65 riders, including Councilwoman Janice Hahn Janice Hahn is a member of the Los Angeles City Council representing the 15th district. Hahn was elected in 2001 and reelected in 2005, running unopposed. The 15th District encompasses the Los Angeles communities of Watts, Wilmington, Harbor Gateway, Harbor City, Athens on the , helped draw attention to Greuel's proposals, recently introduced to the council, on equestrian safety issues and inconsistent city regulations.

Perched atop her horse, Greuel thanked the riders and reiterated her commitment to the San Fernando Valley's equestrian neighborhoods.

``We want to preserve the horse-keeping tradition here in the San Fernando Valley,'' Greuel said. ``Today's ride is a celebration of that tradition with my constituents. We want to ensure that people with horses have equal rights when it comes to planning and land use in the city of Los Angeles

The 2 1/2-hour ride through Lake View Terrace and the Hansen Dam Recreation Center began at 10 a.m. and concluded with a community barbecue.
