GREETING `HELLO MUDDAH, HELLO FADDUH' : CLASSIC COMIC SONGS SERVE AS BASIS FOR HILARIOUS MUSICAL.

Byline: Victoria Giraud Special to the Daily News

Remember that hilarious song of Allan Sherman's back in 1963, ``Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh'' which continued ``here I am in Camp Granada?''

It became the basis, along with many other comic tunes of Sherman's, for a laugh-a-minute, outrageous musical comedy being performed at the Civic Arts Plaza's Forum Theatre in Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964.  on your summer, I'd highly recommend this bright, fast-paced musical full of Jewish humor. It's the tale of Barry Bachman, from birth to old age, full of family, friends, teachers, camp counselors, business associates and all the occasions that mark a life, from a humorous point of view, of course.

The play begins with jokes about Barry's birth and circumcision circumcision (sûr'kəmsĭzh`ən), operation to remove the foreskin covering the glans of the penis. It dates back to prehistoric times and was widespread throughout the Middle East as a religious rite before it was introduced among the , ``Forestein and 7 years ago . . . I hate to cut this short,'' and ends with his Florida life as a senior citizen and the amusing ballad with the words, ``Glory, glory Harry Lewis'' sung to the tune of ``Glory, Glory Hallelujah Hallelujah (hăl'əl`yə) or Alleluia (ăl–) [Heb.,=praise the Lord], joyful expression used in Hebrew worship; cf. Pss. .''

Those of us old enough to remember the popular and classic tunes that are spoofed with Sherman's clever parodies will enjoy it even more. Their titles give the biggest clue - ``Won't You Come Home, Disraeli,'' and ``Shine On Harvey Bloom,'' for instance.
