GREEN TO RETIRE AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNITY FIRST BANKSHARES
FARGO, N.D., Feb. 19 -- Community First Bankshares, Inc., (NASDAQ:CFBX) today announced that Donald W. Green, executive vice president-credit administration, will retire from the company effective March 31, but will continue to consult with the company on credit and acquisition matters.
Green, 59, joined the company in March 1988 and has been in his current position since August 1988. He previously spent 21 years with First Bank System, where his last post was as president and CEO of First Bank-Bismarck in North Dakota.
"Don Green has been an important part of our management team for the last four years, and we will miss his wise counsel," said Donald R. Mengedoth, president of Community First. "We are pleased that he has agreed to consult with us on a part-time basis after March 31 to help us through the transition period."
Mengedoth said the company is examining several alternatives for staffing the credit administration function, and expects that a decision will be made prior to Green's departure.
Headquartered in Fargo, N.D., Community First Bankshares has 23 banking offices in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. The acquisitions of three additional banks and an insurance agency are pending.
