GREEN MOUNTAIN POWER'S ANNUAL REPORT WINS TOP NATIONAL AWARD
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Mountain Power's (NYSE: GMP) 1991 annual report to shareholders won the "top award" overall in the Reddy Communications 53rd Annual Report Competition, which includes electric utilities of all sizes.
GMP's annual report also won first place in its category (electric utilities with annual operating revenues below $300 million) as well as special awards for best writing and best overall design.
"We believe that it is important to provide our shareholders with clear, accurate and interesting information about their company. We are proud that a small Vermont company can achieve that goal in stiff competition with utilities with billions of dollars in revenues," said John V. Cleary, GMP's president and chief executive officer.
Last year the top award went to Pacificorp, a utility with $4 billion in revenues in 1990. GMP received the runner-up award for its 1990 annual report.
Reddy Communications, based in Albuquerque, N.M., is a service organization for electric utilities with members in 14 countries. GMP's annual report will be the cover story for Reddy Communications' Annual Report Edition to be published later this summer.
GMP is an investor-owned electric utility with total revenues of $143 million serving 78,000 customers in Vermont.
GMP's 1991 annual report was written and prepared in-house, designed by First Impressions, Inc., of Burlington, and printed by George Little Press of Burlington.
