GREEN MOUNTAIN COFFEE GOES MOBIL

 WATERBURY, Vt., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Mountain Coffee, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR, BSE: GMR) today announced that Mobil Oil Corporation (NYSE: MOB) has selected Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee to be sold in up to 225 corporately owned and operated Mobil Mart convenience stores located in the Northeast, from Virginia to Maine. Additionally, Mobil Oil is recommending Green Mountain's specialty coffee program to more than 1,000 independently-owned Mobil Marts not presently served by the company. The agreement is a part of Green Mountain's expanding specialty coffee program and supports the company's philosophy of making its gourmet coffee widely and easily available.
 Participating Mobil Marts will brew and sell Green Mountain Coffee Roasters cup coffee and may soon offer fresh-ground Green Mountain Coffee for sale for home consumption.
 The Mobil Mart coffee program offers a variety of high-quality, fresh-brewed coffees dispensed from thermal servers to ensure fresh- brewed quality. The program is supported by a specially designed training program and manual on the proper brewing and handling of coffees that Green Mountains provides to Mobil Mart employees. The Green Mountain specialty coffee training program also includes effective promotional ideas and point-of-sale support.
 The agreement between Green Mountain Coffee and Mobil Oil results from a relationship developed over several years, and follows intense market testing by Mobil. Green Mountain currently sells its coffee to over 150 independently-owned Mobil Marts throughout the Northeast.
 Green Mountain Coffee, Inc. roasts over 25 high-quality arabica coffees to produce more than 80 varieties of coffee that it sells under the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Green Mountain Coffee brands. The majority of the company's revenue is derived from its wholesale accounts including supermarkets, gourmet shops, convenience stores, restaurants, universities and business offices. Green Mountain Coffee, Inc. currently operates nine retail stores in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and upstate New York. In addition, the company offers its coffees and coffee accessories through a direct mail catalog. The company completed the initial public offering of its common stock on Sept. 28, 1993.
