GREEN HILLS SOFTWARE'S INTEGRITY RTOS AVAILABLE FOR RATIONAL SOFTWARE'S RATIONAL ROSE REALTIME.

Green Hills Software Inc., a supplier of embedded software solutions, and a Rational Unified Partner Program member, has announced the availability of its INTEGRITY real-time operating system for Rational Rose RealTime visual development environment.

Green Hills' INTEGRITY RTOS provides a secure, ultra-reliable environment for taking applications developed under Rose RealTime and executing them on an embedded target system.

Rational Rose RealTime is a comprehensive visual development environment that enables developers to design applications using the industry standard UML (Unified Modeling Language), greatly reducing the need to write C or C++ code. Rose RealTime provides a powerful combination of notation, processes, and tools to meet real-time challenges. Through the UML coupled with real-time design constructs, code generation, and model execution, Rose RealTime addresses the complete project lifecycle, from early use case analysis, through design, implementation, and testing. Rose RealTime automatically generates C or C++ code to perform the functions that designers specify using UML diagrams. This code, once compiled using Green Hills' optimizing compilers, may then be downloaded and debugged at the source level on the target through MULTI, and executed on the target under the INTEGRITY RTOS.

INTEGRITY is a ROMable, flashable, high-availability, fault-tolerant RTOS designed for mission-critical applications requiring memory protection and secure operation. Tightly integrated with the MULTI IDE, INTEGRITY employs a pre-emptive, real-time, priority-based multitasking scheduler optimized for fast deterministic response. INTEGRITY features advanced memory protection capabilities, dynamic download, task- and system-level debug, optional POSIX support, and extensive embedded Internet and telephony protocol support. It is also the first memory-protected real-time operating system to be offered on a royalty-free basis. Green Hills supplies an Adaptation Layer that enables applications developed using Rose RealTime to be deployed on target systems under the INTEGRITY RTOS.

INTEGRITY and MULTI for Windows costs $7,900 (US) per development seat with no run-time royalties. INTEGRITY and MULTI 2000 for Unix costs $10,900 (US), again with no run-time royalties.
