GREATER CLEARWATER ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS WINS PRESTIGIOUS STATE AWARD

GREATER CLEARWATER ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS WINS PRESTIGIOUS STATE AWARD
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Greater Clearwater Association of Realtors has won a coveted Board Achievement Award from the Florida Association of Realtors. Clearwater was recognized in the Large-Board Category (along with the Jacksonville Association of Realtors) at the state association's recent 76th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Orlando.
A Board Achievement Award is based on community involvement, as well as real estate-related activities. The Greater Clearwater Association of Realtors was the first Florida realtor association to set up a phone- in Consumer Advisory Service to answer questions about real estate.
The group also supports numerous civic and charitable groups with membership/contributions, including Rotary International, UPARC, Everybody's Tabernacle, Stepping Stone, Family Service Center, CHRB, Toys for Tots, the public school system and five chambers of commerce.
Many of its members are active with the Florida Association of Realtors. Two of them, Robert W. "Bobby" Byrd and Kathleen L. McDowell, were named, respectively, the group's Realtor of the Year and Realtor- Associate of the Year at the Orlando convention. Byrd is president of Bobby Byrd Real Estate and McDowell is affiliated with that firm.
The Florida Association of Realtors, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 65,000 members in 87 local boards/associations throughout Florida.
