 GREAT WESTERN MAKES SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS
 FOR CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE ANDREW
 LAKE WORTH, Fla., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Western Bank has announced the following special arrangements available to its retail banking and home loan customers affected by Hurricane Andrew.
 Consumer Banking Assistance
 1. Great Western will waive automatic teller machine fees for customers with accounts based in Palm Beach, Broward, Dade, and Monroe counties, using shared network ATM's, including HONOR, Star, Cirrus, Publix Presto, Visa, and Mastercard, through Monday, Aug. 31. ATM waivers on withdrawals from Great Western savings and checking accounts in Dade County may extend through late September.
 2. Affected customers may make telephone transfers by calling 800-222-2242.
 3. Overdraft limits have been temporarily increased for customers in areas damaged by the hurricane who have checking accounts in good standing. Customers should check with a Great Western Bank for available overdraft details.
 4. Emergency Checking Reserve credit line increases will be provided on a case-by-case basis, and payment deadlines may be extended if customers have difficulty making payments. Customers may receive additional information and assistance by calling 800-222-2242.
 5. VISA customers may receive emergency credit line increases on a case-by-case basis. Customers should call 800-382-3334 for assistance.
 6. VISA customers having difficulty making payments due to the hurricane should call 800-342-6333 for assistance.
 Real Estate Mortgage Assistance
 1. Great Western has a special mortgage assistance program for home loan borrowers affected by the hurricane. Customers may receive mortgage payment extensions of 90 days, depending on need. Great Western will work one-on-one with borrowers to provide assistance on existing home loans. Borrowers may call 800-852-8515 for instructions.
 2. Great Western customers with hazard insurance checks may receive assistance in cashing their checks at Great Western branches.
 3. Customers requiring information from Great Western for FEMA applications or other government aid should contact their Great Western branch.
 For additional questions and for information regarding which of the bank's branches are open or closed, customers may call 800-GW-ASK-US.
