GREAT CENTRAL MINES N.L. ANNOUNCES NABBERU JOINT VENTURE

MELBOURNE, Australia, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Central Mines N.L. (NASDAQ: GTCMY) an Australian corporation, today announced the following to the Australian Stock Exchange Limited:
The company is to commence bulk sampling diamond bearing kimberlite ME22 following advice today from Stockdale Prospecting Limited, a wholly owned controlled entity of De Beers Consolidated Mines of South Africa, that it has withdrawn from the Nabberu joint venture. The company's recent request for permission to bulk sample ME22, has precipitated this withdrawal as Stockdale has notified the company that it is not their policy to participate in diamond exploration where they do not have technical management and control.
Stockdale are of the view that the kimberlites discovered to date on the joint venture area have no economic potential. However, the company's view is that the economic value of the joint venture area cannot be conclusively determined until bulk sampling and further testing have been conducted.
As well as the bulk sampling of ME22 mentioned above, the company will review all data generated by Stockdale's exploration activities as a further step to continuing exploration on the previous Nabberu joint venture tenements now fully owned by the company, and is continuing its aggressive exploration for diamonds throughout the Greater Nabberu Region of Western Australia.
