Boston Chicken, Inc., Golden, Colo., (BCI) chairman Scott Beck, co-chairman Saad Nadhir and chief financial officer Mark Stephens resigned from the struggling 1,200-unit chain. Nadhir also resigned his post as chairman, chief executive and president of BCI subsidiary Progressive Food Concepts. In addition, all three executives resigned their seats on the board. To fill the void left by Beck, BCI named J. Michael Jenkins chairman and chief executive. Jenkins, who began his restaurant career with Steak & Ale, has served as chief executive at T.G.I Fridays, Metromedia Steak Houses and El Chico and most recently as co-chairman and chief executive at Denver-based Vicorp Restaurants, Inc.

International Multifoods Corp., Wayzata, Minn., announced several executive promotions. Fidias Robuste, president and managing director of MONACA, the company's Venezuela foods business, will retire, effective June 15. William L. Trubeck, senior vice president of finance and CFO, was named interim head of the Venezuelan operations, effective immediately. The company also appointed Trubeck to the newly created position of president, Latin American operations. In addition, its board elected Jeffrey E. Boies to vice president of International Multifoods Corp. International Multifoods operates distribution businesses in the United States and food manufacturing businesses in Canada, Venezuela and the United States.

The Quaker Oats Co. appointed two employees to new senior leadership positions in its finance organization. Tom Gettings, formerly vice president and corporate controller, will become vice president -- Treasury and Tax. He replaces Janet Cooper, who is departing. And, Rick Gunst, former vice president -- Finance, Gatorade North America, will replace Gettings as vice president and corporate controller.

Stan V. Butler was named meetings and exposition services manager at the Institute of Food Technologists, Chicago, III.

CKE Restaurants, Inc., Anaheim, promoted Tom Wilhelm to director, construction. In his new position, he will be responsible for the construction of all new company-operated Carl's Jr. restaurants, and Green Burrito dual-brand conversions.

Chart House Enterprises, Inc., Chicago, tapped Cynthia T. Quigley as its new chief financial officer effective June 1. Most recently Quigley served as vice president of finance for Allied Domecq Retailing, USA (Dunkin' Donuts, Baskin Robbins & Togos).

Theme-restaurant operator Rainforest Cafe, Inc. named Kenneth Brimmer to president on a permanent basis. Brimmer, who succeeds Martin O'Dowd as president for the 18-unit operator, had served as interim president since April last year.

Kellogg Co.'s chief executive Arnold G. Langbo was named a director to oil, gas and chemical operations firm Atlantic Richfield Co.

Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp., Golden, Colo., announced the resignation of Jeffrey L. Butler, president, from the company and the board to pursue other interests. Chief Executive Officer Bob Hartnett will assume the responsibilities of president.

Jeffrey A. Eikenberry, a veteran of the Heublein and Almaden wineries, is the new general manager for Kendall-Jackson Monterey. Eikenberry joins at a time of increasing focus for Kendall-Jackson's Monterey County operations, including construction of the largest winery built to date by the company. The new winery, located in estate vineyards near Soledad, Calif., will open in time for crush 1998.

Agri-Foods International, Inc., Salt Lake City, announced the appointment of three new members to its board: James F. Fuqua, president and managing partner of Fuqua & Friedow, Inc.; Julien R. Den Tandt, CEO of the Ontario Pork Producers' Marketing Board; and Ernest M. Vandeweghe, MD.
