GRANITE AWARDED $11 MILLION AIRPORT JOB

 WATSONVILLE, Calif., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Granite Construction Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: GCCO) announced today that the company has been awarded a contract by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors to make various paving and lighting improvements at Sacramento Metro Airport. The value of the contract is approximately $11 million.
 The scope of the work entails repaving two main runways and most of the airport's taxiways and aprons. The contract also calls for upgrading and improving various airfield lighting systems. Construction is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks and take approximately 11 months to complete.
 Granite Construction is a heavy civil contractor engaged in the construction of highways, dams, tunnels, airports, mass transit systems and other infrastructure-related projects. The company's stock is traded in the NASDAQ/National Market System under the symbol GCCO.
