GRAND JURORS TAKE OATHS FOR TERMS.


VENTURA Ventura (vĕnt`rə), city (1990 pop. 92,575), seat of Ventura co., SW Calif., on the Pacific coast in a farm and oil region; inc. 1866.  - Members of Ventura County's grand jury took oaths Tuesday to serve through 2004.

Seven members from last year were held over to make up the 19-member jury. Among the continuing members is the new foreman, Richard Foreman, Richard (1937–  ) director, producer, playwright; born in New York City. An avant-garde dramatist, he was the founder of the Ontological-Hysteric Theatre in New York in 1968. He designed sets for New York's Public Theatre, among others.  Hawley, a Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  retired attorney.

Hawley said that the among the most important of the grand jury reports he contributed to was the study of housing for the mentally ill.
