Rushing yards by Granada Hills against Bell, a total that won't cut it against Dorsey of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

Why Granada Hills will win: Most teams are simply pushed around by the Dons. Granada Hills, the biggest team in the West Valley League, has the size to handle Dorsey. Whether it does is another story. QB Brandon Charles is Charles I, duke of Lower Lorraine

completing more than 63 percent of his passes.

Why Dorsey will win: Despite playing six teams with winning records, Dorsey was challenged just once against Crenshaw cren·shaw   also cran·shaw

(13-12). All other victories were by at least 13 points. Two running backs have morethan 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns: Stafon Johnson (1,020 yards, 12 TDs) and Jeremiah Johnson (1,013, 16).

Last week: Granada Hills beat Bell 16-13; Dorsey beat Westchester 43-0

Perspective: Since scoring more than 50 in back-to-back games against Cleveland of Reseda and Taft of Woodland Hills, Granada Hills has gone from four touchdowns against Chatsworth to three against El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

of Woodland Hills (one defensive) to two last week against Bell.

NARBONNE (6-5)

at SYLMAR (8-2-1) 7 p.m.

Player to watch: Raul Suarez, OL, Sylmar

One of the few Sylmar players who can match up with Narbonne of Harbor City's big, physical lines.

Key stat: 45

Most individual rushing yards by Sylmar last week, as four runners split 140 yards rather evenly.

Why Narbonne will win: Already knocked off the defending City champs and West Valley League champions in the first round. Birmingham of Lake Balboa Balboa, town (1990 pop. 2,751), Colón prov., in the former Panama Canal Zone, on the Gulf of Panama. The port for Panama City, Balboa was the administrative headquarters of the Panama Canal Zone. It was also the site of a U.S. navy base (closed 1999).  coach Ed Croson said Narbonne had more physical talent in strength and speed than any he has faced this year. FB Pat Smith rushed for 154 yards on 18 carries with three touchdowns against the Patriots.

Why Sylmar will win: Has a more balanced offense than usual and can pass the ball if it cannot run, as it did last week with a 17-yard touchdown pass on the game-winning score. Sylmar will have trouble scoring against Narbonne but will benefit from the long kick returns of Joe Dickson Joe Dickson is a Canadian politician. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2007 provincial election, representing the riding of Ajax—Pickering. He is a member of the Liberal Party.  and a stellar defense that should keep things close.

Last week: Narbonne beat Birmingham 27-20; Sylmar beat Jefferson 13-6

Perspective: The key for Sylmar is that it has enough offensive depth it can rotate players on offense (no one carried more than 10 times last week) to keep them fresh and focused for defense.

GRANT (8-3)

at CARSON (8-3) 7 p.m.

Player to watch: Marquis Powell, WR, Grant

With the defense focusing on the run, Powell took advantage of one-on-one coverage last week to burn Fairfax of Los Angeles for 143 yardsreceiving.

Key stat: 35

Points Grant of Van Nuys gave up in the second half last week after allowing none in the first.

Why Grant will win: RB Anthony Dickson scored a 74-yard touchdown on his first touch last week and might be the most dangerous running back in the City Section. But if Carson focuses on him, the Lancers lanc·er

3. lancers (used with a sing. verb)

have shown they can win through the air, too.

Why Carson will win: Made it through the toughest league in the City Section (Marine) undefeated. Easily beat San Pedro and Narbonne of Harbor City, losing only to Venice (11-0), Clovis West (11-0-1) ofFresno and Los Alamitos Los Alamitos (lôs ăləmē`təs, lŏs), city (1990 pop. 11,676), Orange co., NE of Long Beach, S Calif., in a suburban area; inc. 1960. Los Alamitos Racetrack and U.S. military installations are nearby.  (10-1).

Last week: Grant beat Fairfax 37-35; Carson beat Taft of Woodland Hills 21-6

Perspective: Grant's line dominated Fairfax, forcing it topass. It will be interesting to see how Grant handles Carson in the trenches.
