GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL, WIN A CAR.

PALMDALE -- High school seniors will have a new reason next year to stay in school -- a car.

The Antelope Valley
 is offering a new car to be given away in a drawing next May open to Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
 seniors who meet academic, attendance and behavior standards.

The offer, school officials hope, will provide teens an incentive to stay in school and do well.

``When teenagers prioritize their lives, cars are pretty high,'' Assistant Superintendent Assistant Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was a rank used by police forces in the British Empire. It was usually the lowest rank that could be held by a European officer, most of whom joined the police at this rank.  Tim Azevedo said.

The giveaway will be a 2007 Saturn Ion The Saturn ION was a compact car sold by the Saturn marque of American automaker General Motors. It used the GM Delta platform. The ION replaced the Saturn S-Series in 2003. As of 2006, the ION was the longest compact car sold in North America.  worth more than $19,000, plus custom wheels, tinted tint

The giveaway was proposed by Saturn of Antelope Valley President Lou Gonzales. He heard about an East Coast car dealer that was doing it for one local high school there.

``I thought, how am I going to do it for just one (school)?'' Gonzales said.

The car drawing will be open to all eight AVUSD AVUSD Apple Valley Unified School District (Apple Valley, CA)  schools. Saturn of Antelope Valley is also providing seven $2,000 scholarships for seven more 2007 graduates.

High school juniors were told about the drawing Thursday, to give them advance warning before next year, Azevedo said.

To enter the drawing, next year's seniors must be on track to graduate, have no more than two full days of absences with some exceptions between August and May 2007, pass the state high-school exit exam, and have at least a 2.6 cumulative grade-point average.

Seniors also must have no expulsions or suspensions during the 2006-07 school year and no bad grades in citizenship.

Applications will be accepted at high schools between May 1 and May 15, 2007.
