GRACE NAMES HAMILTON CORPORATE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT; TO HEAD HUMAN RESOURCES

 BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- W. R. Grace & Co. (NYSE: GRA) today announced the election of Pamela J. Hamilton as a corporate senior vice president responsible for Human Resources management at Grace facilities worldwide. In this new position, she will be responsible for recruiting, training and development, career planning, benefits and compensation administration.
 J. P. Bolduc, Grace's president and CEO, said, "Moving a world class company into the 21st century requires world class people. Pam Hamilton brings both technical and environmental background to her human resources expertise, and will provide the vision and direction for Grace to optimize its global competitive performance with its most important asset--its people."
 Hamilton, 43, has been a vice president of Human Resources with Northern Telecom Ltd. in Mississauga, Ontario, since February 1992. Prior to joining Northern Telecom, she had a fourteen-year career with the Manville Corporation where she assumed positions of increasing responsibility both in the U.S. and in Canada.
 Hamilton received a B.S. degree from the University of Arizona in 1972, an M.S. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Texas (Dallas) in 1976, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Denver in 1983.
 She and her husband will relocate from Canada to the Boca Raton, Fla. area where Grace's corporate headquarters is located.
 Grace is the world's largest specialty chemicals company with a leadership position in specialized health care.
