permits.

- Do not open refrigerator and freezer doors.

- Avoid using electrically heated water.

- Turn off all non-essential appliances and as many lights as possible.

- Avoid using major appliances such as electric ranges, washers and clothes
dryers.

- Close curtains and blinds to keep the sun out and retain the cooler air
inside homes.

- Check backup facilities for electric-powered medical equipment and battery
operated radios and flashlights, should they be needed.
