: GPU) invites investors and other interested parties to listen to its live Webcast of its investor conference call discussing second quarter 2001 earnings on Thursday, July 26 at 10 a.m. GPU's Website address is www.gpu.com.

The session may also be accessed by phone at 973 321-1020.

Bruce L. Levy, senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Terrance G. Howson, vice president and treasurer will discuss the second quarter financial results and respond to questions from professional investors.
