GPU Energy Continues Preparations for Hurricane.


READING, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1999--

Hurricane Floyd was the sixth named storm, fourth hurricane, and third major hurricane in the 1999 Atlantic hurricane season.
 that is expected to affect most of the company's service area in Pennsylvania and New Jersey tonight and early tomorrow.

The storm is expected to produce heavy winds and rain.

GPU Energy is moving additional personnel to areas expected to be hardest hit. Crews are traveling from western Pennsylvania Western Pennsylvania consists of the western third of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States.

GPU Energy is offering the following emergency tips for customers in the event of electrical service Electrical service, in building wiring, refers to the wiring that connects the electric utility's cables in the street to the building.
