To bring to completion or fruition; conclude: consummate a business transaction. b. on or before November 28, 2001. The dividend is payable to stockholders of record at the close of business on the business day immediately preceding the effective date of the merger, and payable 30 days following the effective date of the merger. If the merger has not been consummated on or before November 28, 2001, the dividend will be payable within 15 days of the record date to stockholders of record on November 27, 2001.
