GPS Veteran Joins Ashtech; Len Kruczynski Appointed to Management Position.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 1995--Ashtech, Inc., the leader in precision solutions for global positioning, today announced the appointment of Len Kruczynski, 51, as director of strategic relationships.

He is responsible for the strategic relationships marketing program. Reporting to CEO and president, Chuck Boesenberg, Kruczynski will help develop and manage new strategic relationships and partnerships. He brings a historic perspective of GPS to Ashtech and will offer insight for new markets and new partnerships we might consider.

Len has over 21 years of experience in GPS and related fields starting in 1974 when he conducted research into user navigation algorithms for the GPS Joint Program Office. Len was deputy department head for the Department of Astronautics and Computer Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy and also served as the commander of the GPS Yuma Test Force, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, where he was responsible for the test and evaluation of GPS equipment for the Department of Defense.

He joins Ashtech from Trimble Navigation. His responsibilities while at Trimble included the attitude determination system for the military systems division, business development for the surveying and mapping division, software development for the survey and mapping division, chief scientist and codeveloper of the GPS Pathfinder system.

Kruczynski earned a bachelor of science in engineering sciences and astronautics from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a master of science in astronautics from Purdue University, a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
