GPMI invests in core divisions.


New manufacturing technologies as well as a new infrastructure are expected to support future growth for GPMI GPMI Green Party of Michigan  Company, Gilbert, AZ. Representing a $6 million investment, these efforts are focused on two of GPMI's core business: wet wipes A wet wipe, also known as a wet nap or a moist towelette, is a small moistened piece of paper or cloth that often comes folded and individually wrapped in its own wrapper for convenience, much like a packet of sugar or a condom.  and ultrasonic welding Ultrasonic welding is an industrial whereby high-frequency ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are used to weld objects together, usually plastics, and especially for joining dissimilar materials. . Two wipe lines have been added to the company's existing wet wipe operations. One is a high-speed, fully automated canister line with an emphasis on canister size flexibility, sanitation and built-in control systems; the second is a soft-pack line with the ability to produce all wet wipe configurations including soft packs, tubs and refills. Additionally, after 18 months of development and engineering, GPMI has completed its unique, state-of-the-art sonic welding welding, process for joining separate pieces of metal in a continuous metallic bond. Cold-pressure welding is accomplished by the application of high pressure at room temperature; forge welding (forging) is done by means of hammering, with the addition of heat.  lines capable of ultrasonically bonding up to eight layers of nonwovens. These lines are designed to yield the highest quality products with great production flexibility.
