GP provides training to the Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (CDF) workforce, and operates and maintains the PCSS. The PCSS simulates the operation of key plant equipment and systems, allowing control room trainees to practice job skills in a safe training environment.

Craig Seger, GP Vice President and CDTF Program Manager, stated, "The PCSS upgrade is an example of the successful business partnering relationship between GP and the PMCSD, with respect to evaluating technological advancements to determine if implementation would enhance training program quality. In this instance, implementation of the simulator training platform enables greater student throughput, while significantly enhancing the fidelity of control room operator training in both normal and non-normal scenarios."

Ken Findley, PMCSD Contracting Officer Representative added, "The government is pleased with the partnership with GP, which has resulted in beneficial training for the CSDP workforce. Because of the improvements in simulation technology and the expertise of the GP trainers, the high level of performance at the operating sites has been enhanced. All of us are pleased with the ISPI award and the overall excellent training and safety records at the sites."

-- Increased the number of students able to operate an independent copy of the
equipment of system concurrently,

-- Increased student training time, and

-- Improved CDTF's capability to meet and exceed customer requirements in
a cost-effective manner.
