GOVERNMENT TECHNOLOGY SERVICES, INC. HAS APPLE ON GSA SCHEDULE

CHANTILLY, Va., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The General Services Administration (GSA) recently awarded a major modification to the 1993-94 Schedule B/C contract of Government Technology Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTSI). This modification adds a broad line of products from Apple Computer, Inc., including such popular models as Macintosh Centris and Quadra, as well as workgroup servers. With this amendment, which adds more than 180 products, GTSI now offers approximately 5,500 products on Schedule.
As was announced in April 1993, GTSI and Apple signed a reseller agreement authorizing GTSI to sell the full line of Apple products to the Federal government through a variety of procurement vehicles.
"We are very pleased that we are now able to offer our customers Apple products on Schedule," said R. M. Rickenbach, chief executive officer and president of GTSI. "By adding Apple technology to our GSA Schedule, GTSI now represents a true one-stop shop for the Government, providing customers with all the leading personal computer technology available. Now Government can choose from GTSI's wide selection of DOS- , Windows-, RISC-, UNIX-, and Apple Macintosh-based products, including thousands of Apple Macintosh-compatible software applications and peripheral products.
"We are confident that for Apple technical computing, imaging, and networking technology in the Federal marketplace, GTSI's GSA Schedule B/C offers the ideal combination of selection, interoperability, and ease in procurement, all with the attractive GSA Schedule terms and conditions and at GTSI's low GSA Schedule prices."
GTSI, an established leader in supplying the Government with Intel- based microcomputer products, added UNIX workstation and allied products to its offerings early in 1992. The addition of the Apple platform this April to the Company's broad product selection allows the Government customer to turn to a single supplier for all their computing needs.
GTSI is the leading reseller of microcomputer and workstation hardware, software, and networking products to the Federal Government market.
