GOV. CASEY PRESENTS $524,885 LOAN TO MERCER COUNTY COMPANY
SHARON, Pa., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Robert P. Casey today presented Winner Technologies Inc. of Sharon with a $524,885 loan from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) to help the company expand its operations.
The $1.3 million project is expected to add 35 jobs to the firm's current payroll of five employees.
"This PIDA funding will help Winner expand its existing warehousing capabilities and accommodate additional production needs while creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs," Casey said.
The governor made the presentation during a visit to the Winner Technologies Inc. facility at 195 Pitt St. as part of a two-day event recognizing Sharon as Pennsylvania's Capital for a Day.
Winner Technologies, which designs and manufactures engineered circuitry, will use the PIDA funds to acquire a 164,937-square-foot warehouse and light manufacturing facility on an 11-acre tract at 385 Shenango Ave. in Sharon. The facility, owned by Devonwood Development Corp., was previously occupied by the Peter J. Schmitt Co. for warehouse food distribution for Golden Dawn supermarkets.
The PIDA board approved the Winner Technologies loan in March.
PIDA loans, awarded at low-interest rates, may be used by manufacturers and industrial firms to purchase land and buildings for construction and renovation.
