GORBACHEV BRINGS HIS BATTLE FOR GLOBAL HEALTH TO L.A.

"I have visited Los Angeles on many occasions and it is a great city that is making a significant contribution," Gorbachev said.

The former Soviet leader also won support from the council in asking the Group of Eight nations to establish an international panel to look at environmental issues and take steps to reduce greenhouse gases.

Villaraigosa told Gorbachev that he is pushing a broad agenda to make the city more environmentally friendly Environmentally friendly, also referred to as nature friendly, is a term used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.[1] .

Among his plans are planting a million trees, converting the city's vehicle fleet to alternative fuels, restoring the L.A. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation. .
