GOP's "Sanders index".

Bernie Sanders Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is the current junior United States Senator from Vermont. Sanders was elected on November 7, 2006, and is presently a member of the 110th United States Congress. , Vermont's sole congressman, is also the only admitted socialist in the House of Representatives. The registered Independent scored 47 percent for the three Conservative Indexes published for the current Congress. One hundred and seventy-four Republican congressmen--76 percent of the GOP House contingent --scored less than 47 percent for the same indexes, which included key votes on such measures as prescription drug prescription drug Prescription medication Pharmacology An FDA-approved drug which must, by federal law or regulation, be dispensed only pursuant to a prescription–eg, finished dose form and active ingredients subject to the provisos of the Federal Food, Drug,  benefits, job training, abortion at military facilities and funding for the North American Development Bank The North American Development Bank (NADB) is a binational financial institution capitalized and governed equally by the United States of America and Mexico for the purpose of financing environmental projects certified by the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC). . This is an indictment of the GOP, not an endorsement of Sanders.

It should be understood that, in an era of a Republican-dominated Congress, Democrats often reject GOP-sponsored bills out of a desire to enact even more egregiously socialist legislation. Such votes earn a "plus" score in our index, which is based on performance irrespective of irrespective of
