CELEBRATE GREEN EATING: Some colleagues are fond of the McDonald's Shamrock Shakes that were available for celebrating St.Patrick's Day in years past. Unfortunately, they are not on this year's menu lineup. The next best thing just might be a Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat available at Dairy Queen Dairy Queen (also known as DQ) is an ice-cream shop and fast-food restaurant franchise based in the United States and founded in 1940.

For many years the franchise's slogan was "We treat you right!" In recent years, it has been changed to "DQ something different.
 (locations in Northridge, Burbank, Valencia, Westlake Village, Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969. , etc.) this month. It's made with creamy vanilla soft-serve, Oreo cookie pieces and cream de menthe topping. Yum!

And for more St. Paddy's Day-themed goodies, See's Candies See's Candies is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality candy, particularly chocolate, in the western United States. It was founded by Charles See and his mother Mary See in Los Angeles, California in 1921. The company is now headquartered in South San Francisco, California.  is again offering Milk Chocolate Green Foil Wrapped Shamrocks ($4.90 for 8 ounces, Milk Chocolate Leprechauns (90 cents each for 1-ounce), bags of gold foil coins ($10.50 for 12 ounces) and those fun- looking but not-great-tasting St. Patrick's St. Patrick's or Saint Patrick's may refer to:
  • Saint Patrick's Day, named after the saint
  • St. Patrick's Purgatory, an ancient pilgrimage in Lough Derg, County Donegal, Ireland
 Day Potatoes with divinity ($2.85 each).

Just Born has introduced bright and eye-catching marshmallow marshmallow /marsh·mal·low/ (mahrsh´mel?o) (-mal?o) a perennial Eurasian herb, Althaea officinalis,  Peeps Green Chicks (fun for St. Paddy's Day and Easter) packaged in five-, 10- and 15-count trays with suggested retail prices of 59 cents, 99cents and $1.19, respectively. Chicks are also available in pink, lavender, blue and yellow.

The company has also introduced Peeps Sugar-Free (yellow) Chicks sweetened sweet·en

Low Fat Mini Fudge Pops. With 50 calories each, these creamy pops are the perfect size to satisfy chocolate cravings fast without guilt. Packaged 12 to a box.

Mint Fudge Low Fat Ice Cream Cones. With 150 calories and 3 grams fat, the refreshing, cool low-fat mint ice cream topped with fudge on a crisp chocolate- coated waffle See WAFL.  cone is a good anytime treat. Packaged in boxes of four.

Although they are not new, tasters really enjoyed the good taste of the Low Fat Mint Ice Cream Sandwiches with 140 calories and 1.5 grams fat (six to a package) and the Low Fat Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwiches (140 calories and 1.5 grams fat each) in the chocolate-vanilla combo package (with three of each flavor in a package). Look for the products, each with a suggested retail of $4.99 per package, in supermarket freezer sections.
