Available in pints in supermarket freezer sections, suggested retail is $3.79 each. - Natalie Haughton DINING OUT The shuttered Country Star at Universal CityWalk in Universal City has finally reopened as the Saddle Ranch Chop House, the second location of the Sunset Strip Western steak house of the same name. Known for its mechanical bulls, this latest edition of Saddle Ranch features the largest CityWalk outdoor patio and bar, an outdoor dance floor and a stage for live entertainment and DJs. As a sports bar it has more than 100 36-inch monitors and four 160-inch big screens. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner daily, it begins the day at 8 a.m. serving Texas versions of French toast, waffles, pancakes, steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy Biscuits and gravy is a popular breakfast dish in both the southeastern and northwestern regions of the United States. It consists of (American-style) biscuits (which are actually savory scones) covered in thick "country" or "white" gravy made from the drippings of cooked pork , cereal (even trail mix and grits grits coarsely ground hominy served in traditional Southern breakfast. For seafood fanciers, there's a single planked salmon creation ($17). Saddle Ranch has a full bar and presents an all-you-can-eat beef and baby back ribs ($19) night every Tuesday.
