GOOD TASTES.

LOW-FAT KETTLE CORN Kettle corn is a sweet-and-salty variety of popcorn that adds granulated sugar, salt, and oil.

In the 1700s, kettle corn was introduced to colonial palates in the United States.

last year, consumers have been asking for a low-fat version. And now it's available. The company just introduced Healthy Pop Kettle Corn, 94 percent fat free, a low-fat version of kettle corn, sweetened sweet·en

 with Splenda.

Each cup of the popped corn contains less than 1/2 gram of fat and 25 calories as opposed to about 3.6 grams fat and 56 calories per cup in its higher fat counterpart. Each bag contains about 10 cups popped popcorn or two and a half servings. Tasters gave the new product, with a sweet and salty taste, a thumbs up, although it was a tad salty for some. Even though it's not as decadent and rich tasting as the original kettle corn, it's delicious - and the calorie and fat savings make it worth the trade-off. A 9-ounce box containing three 3-ounce bags retails for around $1.99.
