GOOD TASTES.

BUTTER CROCK crock - [American scatologism "crock of shit"] 1. An awkward feature or programming technique that ought to be made cleaner. For example, using small integers to represent error codes without the program interpreting them to the user (as in, for example, Unix "make(1)", which : If you like your bread slathered with softened butter, consider the Butter Bell crock. It will keep butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration up to a month.

Here's how it works. You add cold water to the base of the crock and then pack softened plain or herb butter (one stick) into the bell-shaped cup of the lid, smoothing the top. Replace the top lid into the bottom of the crock. The water will create a complete seal around the cup to keep the butter fresh. But do note that it's necessary to change the water in the base of the crock every three days.

The stone crocks are available in different colors and designs and range from $17.95 (white raised floral design) to $24.96 (hunter green or colbalt blue with white interior). To order or for more information or a catalog, call (800) 575-1900.
