GOOD TASTES.

NEW FROM CINNABON: Cinnabon is launching Strawberry Minibons filled with strawberry filling and topped with a reduced fat cream cheese frosting frosting

the slight graying of the haircoat around the face, particularly muzzle, in dogs with aging and as a regular feature of some breeds such as the Belgian shepherd dog.
and a berry drizzle along with blended 16- or 24-ounce Strawberry Frusias (made with fat-free milk, Torani strawberry puree and ice). Samples will be given out at participating mall locations (www.cinnabon.com) during the World's Largest Mother's Morning Out event from 10 a.m. to noon today. So, if you have time and want to taste the new items, head to a Cinnabon location in the Westfield Shoppingtown Topanga Plaza, Glendale Galleria or elsewhere.

Some tasters thought the new minibons were overly sweet, overly strawberry-flavored and too gooey. Some said they'd stick with the original flavor if they planned to indulge.

NEW COCA-COLA C2 DEBUTS: The Coca-Cola Company has launched Coca-Cola C2 with half the carbohydrates, calories and sugar of regular Coke. An 8-ounce serving contains 45 calories and 12 grams carbohydrates as opposed to 100 calories and 27 grams in the same serving size of regular Coke.

The C2 contains high-fructose corn syrup High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is any of a group of corn syrups that have undergone enzymatic processing in order to increase their fructose content and are then mixed with pure corn syrup (100% glucose) to reach their final form.  and/or sucrose in combination with the sugar substitutes aspartame aspartame: see sweetener, artificial.

One taster taster /tast·er/ (tas´ter) an individual capable of tasting a particular test substance (e.g., phenylthiourea, used in genetic studies).  who took the taste challenge - regular Coke vs. Coca-Cola C2 - thought the two tasted similar. However other tasters thought the C2 definitely had a watered-down flavor - and some found it less sweet-tasting than regular Coke. Some preferred Diet Coke over the new C2 and would stick with it as it has no calories, fat or carbs. Do your own taste comparison and select your personal favorite.

Coca-Cola C2 is available in 12-ounce plastic bottles or eight or 18 (12-ounce can) multipacks.

DINING OUT

The opening of Larry Flynt's Supper Club in Beverly Hills might have raised a few questions and spawned a few comments, but it has evidently surprised visitors with both a saucy, old-style burlesque show, tame enough for both grandmothers or teenagers, according to Jay Weston in his restaurant newsletter, and with a commitment to food.

Chef Michael Burchfield's starters ($9 to $18) include a mussel mussel, edible freshwater or marine bivalve mollusk. Mussels are able to move slowly by means of the muscular foot. They feed and breathe by filtering water through extensible tubes called siphons; a large mussel filters 10 gal (38 liters) of water per day.  stew in Thai coconut red curry ($16), roasted garlic custard with chanterelles, black truffles and wilted arugula arugula
 or rocket

Yellowish-flowered European herbaceous plant (Eruca vesicaria sativa), of the mustard family, cultivated for its foliage, which is used especially in salads.
.

Burchfield crusts his lamb chops ($33) with pistachio pistachio (pĭstăsh`ēō, pĭstä`shēō), tree or shrub (of the genus Pistacia) of the family Anacardiaceae (sumac family). The species that yields the pistachio nut of commerce is P.  and pairs them with a sweet potato cake, and he sautees dandelions with his grilled prime beef tenderloin ($34) plate.

His walnut rum cake with sauteed apples heads a short dessert list ($8 each).

But the bonus here is no cover charge for the show if you're a dinner customer.

Flynt's at 424 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, serves dinners from 6 p.m. to midnight nightly Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations: (310) 275-8511.
