NEW: The founders of Cape Cod Potato Chips Cape Cod Potato Chips is a snack foods company most famously know for their brand of potato chips. It is headquartered in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. According to the company, Cape Cod Potato Chips was founded in 1980 by Steve and Lynn Bernard.  Inc. and Chatham Village Chatham Village is a community within the larger Mt. Washington neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. History
Chatham Village was built 1932-1936 and is based on the principles of the Garden City Movement of the early twentieth century.
 Foods Inc. just introduced Late July Organic Crackers in three flavors - Bite Size Cheddar Cheese, Round Saltine sal·tine

Noun 1. saltine - a cracker sprinkled with salt before baking
 and Classic Rich from their new company Late July Snacks. The products are trans-fat free, made with organic ingredients and contain no hydrogenated oils.

Comments from tasters who sampled the products varied. One thought the saltines and Cheddar cheese crackers had good flavor but found that the Ritz Cracker knockoffs (Classic Rich) lacked flavor. Another taster taster /tast·er/ (tas´ter) an individual capable of tasting a particular test substance (e.g., phenylthiourea, used in genetic studies).  wasn't impressed with any of the crackers - referring to them as ``cardboard tasting.'' However, others thought they were tasty and might buy them to accompany dips or serve with cheese offerings, etc. Look for the 6-ounce boxes at Whole Foods Markets; suggested retail price is $2.99 each.

In the new, owner-operated Sphinx sphinx (sfĭngks), mythical beast of ancient Egypt, frequently symbolizing the pharaoh as an incarnation of the sun god Ra. Sphinx, replacing Dizengoff, makes its dining room comfortable for late-night patronage, utilizing burgundy couches as part of its Egyptian theme.

The additional lure is a menu featuring relatively low prices, with starters priced from $2.50 to $7 and dinner entrees from $11 to $14. Desserts range from $2.50 to $5.

Main-course plates include barbecued chicken ($11.99), beef ($10.99) and pork ($13.99), ground chicken ($11.99) or ground beef kebabs ($10.99), lamb chops ($15.99) and a chicken breast dish with spinach, cheese, mushrooms and onions ($13.99). All main courses include a choice of baked potato, rice pilaf or fries and are served with bell pepper, tomato, onions and parsley.

Lunch entrees have the same ingredients and are priced at $4 less than the equivalent dinners.

Sphinx, at 13718 Ventura Blvd., does not serve alcohol, takes cash and ATM cards only, and is open continuously from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. nightly, to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Information and reservations: (818) 981-1636.
