GOOD NIGHT; Sound sleep is your choice.

We spend around a third of our life asleep. So investing in a good kip is money well spent. SARAH DALE Sarah Dale Caldwell McCauley was a fictional character in the now-defunct American Soap Opera, Love of Life. She was originally played by actress Jane Rose then from 1968 to 1977 by actress Joanna Roos, who is most identified in the role; and then until the show's end in  gets some help to drift off..

CHOOSING the right bed is essential to a good night's sleep, says Marcus Dicken.

"The obvious way to see if a bed is going to suit you is to try it," says Marcus, who owns At Home Furnishings and The Funky Rug Shop on Portrack Lane, Stockton, with wife, Ann. "But most people don't." Whether you go for standard sprung, pocket sprung or memory foam Memory foam is made from polyurethane with additional chemicals that add to its viscosity level, thereby increasing its density. It is often referred to as visco-elastic polyurethane foam.  is down to personal comfort and your budget, but size does matter, says Marcus. And, if you've got the room, the bigger the better.

"We have a 6ft super kingsize bed with a sprung mattress with a layer of memory foam over," says Marcus, who lives in Wynyard with Ann and their two children James, 11, and nine-year-old Thomas.

"If you think about a normal double bed which is about 4ft by 6ft, you're only getting 2ft each, which is less than if you were in a single bed so no wonder you keep tossing and turning and disturbing each other.

"If you have the room, invest in a super kingsize bed, you will really notice the difference." How you dress the bed is important, too "Our bedroom is beige and gold, nice and relaxing," says Marcus, as he stretches out on a black French number.

"The 10-piece set on this bed is pounds 999 and includes a silk throw and selection of cushions.

It's not something I sell everyday but customers love the bed and the bedding on it, too." DID YOU KNOW...
