On March 28, a delegation of 10 students from Darien High School and two teachers traveled to Shanghai, China, as part of the Darien-China Exchange Program. They included John "Jake" McCauley, who is a 15-year-old sophomore. He is the son of Andrea (Seymour) and Jack McCauley. Andrea lived in South Lancaster until she married.

Gina Marie Testa of Clinton graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston at commencement ceremonies on May 2 at TD Banknorth Garden. Gina received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology. She is the daughter of Sam and Linda Testa of Clinton. Maternal grandparents are Gerald and Marjorie Ruberti of Clinton. Paternal grandparents are Sam and Lucy Testa of Dudley.

Kyle McElheney, son of Charles and Nancy McElheney of Lancaster, was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Psychology Honor Society at St. Michael's College during induction ceremonies held April 25, on the Vermont college campus. He is a sophomore psychology major, one of 25 students to be named to the prestigious society at St. Michael's, a liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in the Burlington area of Vermont. He graduated from Clinton High School before going to St. Michael's.

Bryan D. Klinkhamer will be graduating from Salem State College on May 17, with a bachelor's of science in criminal justice. He graduated from Clinton High School in 2005 and currently lives in Byfield. In the fall, he will be attending Northeastern University Graduate School of Criminal Justice.

Sunnyside Ford of Holden earned Ford Motor Company's highest honor, The 2007 President's Award.

The President's Award acknowledges those Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships that have led the nation in exceptional service and vehicle ownership experiences for their customer.

"Earning this award is a reflection of our entire staff's commitment to delivering the best customer experience possible" says Sunnyside Ford's owner, Danny Harrington. On Sunday, May 4, Clinton High School students, Tiffany Sontag, grade 11, and Maddy Vacha, grade 10, represented their gymnastics club, Clinton Turners, at the USA Gymnastics Region VI Level 8 Championship held at the University of Rhode Island. At the meet, they competed with gymnasts representing the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and New York.

To earn a competition spot at the regionals, both gymnasts needed to first qualify at a USA sanctioned sectional meet with an all-around score of 32.5 or better from floor, beam, uneven bars and vault. They both easily qualified at the USA Gymnastics States Competition held at Cape Cod on April 12.

At the Massachusetts USAG States meet, both gymnast received trophies for their all-around event scores, with Vacha earning a ninth All-Around Trophy and Sontag taking home an 11th place All-Around Trophy. Their scores placed them in the top 25, securing them each an invitation to don the leotard and warm-up suit representing the state at the Region VI Level 8 Championship. Sontag and Vacha are the first gymnast on the girls team at Clinton Turners to quality for and attend a regional meet. Sontag received a fifth place medal on floor and Vacha received a fifth place medal on uneven bars. Fred and Aubrey Sontag coach the girls.

Vazquez has extensive experience in residential real estate sales. She has been a real estate associate for over four years in the North Central Mass. area as well as in Puerto Rico. She has been awarded with Outstanding Sales Achievement and the Silver Top Producer Award.
